Joinery Logic

A well-cut joint requires no fasteners.
The structure holds because every piece fits.

This is the operating philosophy behind everything I build with founders. Not policies that constrain, not org charts that calcify.. but organizations designed like precision joinery: each role, each process, each intelligence layer interlocking cleanly so the whole structure thrives without the maker's hands.

The Thesis
"Build to Sell" isn't a strategy for the end; It is the discipline of the middle years.
Systemic Decoupling

Most business owners are trapped by their own competence. Their business is an extension of their personality rather than an independent asset. This creates a valuation ceiling that no amount of revenue can break.

The fatal mistake in scaling is trading Innovation for Bureaucracy. As organizations grow, they often replace the founder's spark with rigid rules that stifle agility, creating a stable but stagnant business that buyers discount.

My approach utilizes AI-enhanced operational frameworks to institutionalize innovation, not just administration, transforming your business into a high-performance, transferable engine that thrives and evolves without you.

I built Zenyon from a two-person consulting shop into a federal IT firm with multi-year contracts across DHS, NIH, GSA, and OPM, including managing the data center responsible for security clearances of the entire US civilian federal workforce. I then exited the business through a sale.

I served on the North American leadership team of a foreign-headquartered industrial manufacturer during its $400M acquisition, having built the division and secured its first anchor customers. I've also founded a renewable energy manufacturing venture and a STEM education startup that enrolled 550+ students in partnership with Maryland school systems.

That range.. founder, operator, federal contractor, M&A participant.. is what I bring to engagements. I work with a limited number of founders who are serious about building businesses that perform without them.

The work that grounds the advice.
